Callipygian Christensen

Ms. Christensen is a member of the FRI collaboration on Shengri La.  As the artist of record for Shengri La's community, she has tirelessly created extensive visual documentation of the FRI islands in Second Life.  She creates virtual world images of  fashion, portrait, landscape and still life art, striving to produce photographs reflecting ‘real-world’ imagery. She enjoys the challenge of making avatars appear to express emotion.

While Photoshop, pose balls and model studios are useful tools for the Second Life photographer, many of Ms. Christensen's images are candid shots, taken as people go about their daily virtual world lives or as the virtual world spins through its daily cycle from sun rise to sun rise. Her images shot in Shengri La are particularly compelling, with a haunting beauty that captures the essential emotions the terraformers, builders, texturers, and inhabitants have imbued into the landscapes.

While some of the  images shown here are retouched in Photoshop, others are raw in-world uploads. Ms. Christensen's images have won both juried and people’s choice awards in Second Life photographic contests and are used for the Prim & Proper fashion line in our look books and fashion advertising.  The Fashion Research Institute is proud to be affiliated with such a talented individual, and pleased and excited to be able to present her work both here, and in Second Life.  Please visit Ms. Christensen's gallery, Images by Calli, in Shengri La  or her video to view more of her work .
